受明清研究推動委員會資助，每月定期組織學界同仁召開讀書會研讀檔案，並邀請研究所學生參與。2023 年中西檔案讀書會，主要召集院內、外清史學人共同研讀 2021 年底中國第一歷史檔案館新出版之《軍機處雍正朝滿文議覆檔譯編》。
十七世紀前後的內亞與海洋世界國際學術研討會
國際與臺灣學界逐漸關注內陸亞洲、海洋史等議題，並將中國與臺灣史置於全球脈絡中。臺灣新史學強調自下而上的新社會史、醫療史與性別史研究。十六至十八世紀的族群活動對東亞影響深遠，仍有許多探討空間。
